Winter is setting in and the days are getting shorter, but that doesn’t mean that I’m any less busy with shooting actor headshots at the studio! I’ve had a great time working with a whole variety of actors from drama school students to professional actors who have been in the industry for many years, here are a couple of them!
Getting your headshots taken by a professional actor headshots photographer doesn’t have to be a daunting experience, I’ve found that while some people are nervous on their way to the headshot session, as soon as we start to chat and shoot together the nerves quickly vanish and the fun begins. As headshot photographers we are here to help you through the process and to make sure that you have a fun and enjoyable experience as that will always lead to you getting awesome headshots!
I had the pleasure of shooting with Stavros Symeonidis who was looking to get a complete set of new headshots taken, he moved to London from Athens and is looking for roles in TV and Film in both the UK and the USA. When he arrived we had a chat about his career and where he wanted to work, from there we discussed different options for clothing/backdrops/lights that could help sell different characters and styles.
Its always really important to have a chat with your headshot photographer about the type of roles that you think you are suited for as this will allow them to tailor the headshot session to you more personally. Its amazing how much of a difference can be made by switching light modifiers or clothing and so by talking through everything throughout the session allows both actor and photographer to be on the same page and therefore maximise your time!
I'll make sure that you'll always be able to have a relaxed, fun time in your Headshot Session, you'll never be rushed and I take time to get to know you as an person and what you want from the session!
Session Packages start at £150 with Student Discounts available!
Charlotte Cox is a drama student at Rose Bruford and is in her final year, as a result she wanted to get her first set of professional acting headshots for her showcase performance and her career after finishing her course. As with all actors whose first time it is with having headshots taken, I talked Charlotte through the shoot when she first arrived and then when we began shooting I gave lots of direction to help make the session easier and fun.
Charlotte was a complete natural in front of the camera and very quickly got comfortable which meant that we were able to shoot quite a few different set ups and character looks. A headshot tip for guys and girls is if you can change your appearance either by tying your hair up if you have long hair or clean shaving mid way through a session if you are a guy then definitely do it, this can lead to a very clear shift in character playing age and personas.
I believe in giving you a large variety of looks when you have a headshot session with me. My goal is to give you a selection of shots that show your range as an actor and most importantly get you seen! Take a look at some more of my work with lots of other actors!
